Mountwood Surgery is located just inside Gate 1 of Mount Vernon Hospital. Gate 1 is the first entrance past the Ducks Hill Road traffic lights on the Rickmansworth Road (A404) heading towards Batchworth Heath and Rickmansworth.

After turning into gate 1 you will see the Mountwood surgery building a few metres along on the right hand side. Just before the main surgery entrance are the disabled parking spaces for those patients who have disabled parking permits which should be displayed. These disabled spaces are specifically reserved for the patients attending Mountwood Surgery.

The main patient car park, with 32 spaces is past the main surgery building with the entrance on the right hand side. You may drive straight into the car park but the car park is barrier controlled, by keypad, on exit, so you need to get the numerical code which changes daily from reception, after your appointment.

Please do not use our car park for other facilities with the hospital.

Try to bring only one car per family per visit.

If the car park is full please use the main hospital car park (30 yards further along the road, on the opposite side of the road) for which there is a charge.

For health and safety reasons please do not wait in the lane outside the car park as it restricts access for the emergency services.

By train

The nearest London Underground Tube stations are Northwood, Moor Park or Rickmansworth (all on the Metropolitan line). It can take over half an hour, walking uphill from the nearest of these, so we recommend our patients take a taxi or a bus from these stations. The Tube pages of Transport for London website can help you plan your underground journeys.

The nearest overground train station is Rickmansworth using Chiltern Railways.

For more information on rail journeys, visit the National Rail Enquiries website or call National Rail enquiries on 08457 484 950.

By bus

There are several buses that stop at Mount Vernon hospital. There are buses from Harrow, Ealing and Ruislip. For more information on tubes and buses serving the surgery, contact the London Travel Information line on 020 7222 1234 or visit the buses page of the Transport for London website.

Wheelchair access

The Surgery has been specially designed to make it easier for disabled patients to visit. There are no steps at the entrance of the building giving patients easy access. Due to fire regulations, we do have heavy fire doors, however if you have trouble opening these please ask Reception for assistance as they are always happy to help.

We have a disabled toilet on both floors, and a lift to the first floor.

Disabled Parking

We have 4 disabled parking bays in our smaller car park.

Hearing Loop System

We have a loop induction system at the reception desk to assist the hearing impaired.
